Altered Pages Challenge #5: "Snow Dancing"

It's time for another AP challenge, using AP products...of course! Cuz they ROCK!!!

The theme this month is "Snow Dancing."

I am the first to admit that I am NOT a seamstress!

BUT, I LOVE to use my sewing machine when creating altered pieces & kinda feel that if it's just for me, I can get away with crooked lines!!

This one was inspired by our very own AP DT member, Tristan Robin Blakeman, who creates the most AMAZING altered fabric collage art!!! 

{Mine is nowhere near as lovely as his, but I like it anyway!}

I used an image from the "Vintage Ice Ballet" collage sheet sewn upon layers of linen, satin, some strange foil-like material, flowers, trim & mother of pearl buttons! I left a little pocket at the top so that I can slip a dowel through it later to hang.

Kim Wins a Challenge for Altered Pages!

Kim did this great little mini using images from Altered Pages so that she could enter her first challenge & she WON!! The challenge was titled "Last Flowers of Summer" & we had to use images or stamps purchased through Altered Pages...Kim decided to use a collage sheet featuring Norma Shearer.

But instead of using plain old cardstock or ATC cards to play with for her images, she REALLY thought outside the box & used the packaging from a Starbucks Via Coffee sample!! Here is the WINNING result!

MY SISTER ROCKS!!! I am always amazed at the creative spin she puts on her projects!!!

Altered Altoid Tin - A New Singer

I just added this little Altered Altoid Tin Box to the Etsy shop!

It started off as a challenge entry for the Altered Pages July Challenge - to use some type of metal in your project. At first, I was having a hard time coming up with an idea because I didn't want to simply use a charm or a metal frame to meet the challenge. Then the light bulb went off & here we are! I had so much fun making this one that I can't wait to do some more!! Let me know what y'all think...
